JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. The Facility Assistant is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, as well as cleaning, health and safety, material handling and space management. Work is performed within established procedures under both written and verbal instructions. Decision making about detail of work is exercised in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and coordinate work of contractors, verifying that agreed work by staff and Contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
- Respond to 24-hour emergencies and urgent issues as they arise.
- Works collaboratively with OCHC Management.
- Inspect buildings, sites and equipment for needed repair / maintenance.
- Distribute all supply orders, verify contents and ensure delivery to appropriate department.
- Troubleshoot all maintenance issues to determine cause and solution.
- Assist with construction project management.
- Maintain maintenance records and prepare reports.
- Assist with the directing and planning essential services such as Maintenance, mail, and cleaning.
- Carry cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.
- Ensure the completion of all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires a High school diploma, preferred or three to five years of related experience, specifically in a healthcare environment a plus.
